How do you get a donkey to smile for the camera?

The donkeys are busy watching the Crazy Love bible study group from Christ Community Chapel in Hudson. I guess I should have been holding the carrots.

Kiss the cook!

Josh, who is a member of the Circle of Influence from Indian River Correctional Facility, provided the following feedback for a volunteer/missionary/cook.

"Once again like Becky I she her motherly love come out when she works with us. Her food is never a step under wonderful. Everything she cooks if it was a material object turns to gold. She gave me a book of the word of God & my heart was grabed with blessing & love. When she cooks for us I image her as my mom cooking having a family get together."

Where 2 or 3 are gathered...

I went to a unit alone and I was disappointed when the guard told the boys that participating in my service was "optional". Immediately most of the boys got up and went to a different area. There were only four boys left for me to talk to which is the smallest group I have spoken to in my ten years of coming to the JDC. I told the boys that Jesus said, "Whenever two or more gather in my name I am there with them", and that therefore our small numbers didn't matter. I then preached the gospel to those boys and was delighted at the end when two of the boys prayed to receive Jesus as Saviour! It's a privilege for us to be used by the Lord as one of his tools!  Sincerely,  Duncan

Fourth Sunday Crew

Hello from the Fourth Sunday Crew!

The young ladies we talked to reminded us today how important it is to be prepared to communicate why we believe the Bible as well as what it means to have Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of your life. Great job Jen!!

Please pray for the youth as they search for the truth!

Becky Retzer, Volunteer of the Year!!!!

Becky, thanks for your dedication to the True North Ministry and the juveniles that you work with!!

My job was not complete..

"I often think about the day (after one of Pastor Joe's sermons about serving outside the church) I  checked out places to serve and decided to take lunch to True North Ministries. It was truly a "God Day". When we spoke on the phone and learned about each other and True North Ministries.
After helping the young men of True North Ministries learn more about the donkeys, their care, grooming, leading, massaging, etc. I felt a deeper hunger to serve again. There are so many ways animals, such as equines, can help people become leaders like Christ. That day I saw so many expressions on the faces of those young men. Young men who may or may not have ever been around animals or have had the opportunity to brush, walk or feel the warmth from an animal. The softness of an innocent animal who may have built up enough trust to gently walk up and brush up against one of the young men or give a nudge with their nose. I saw so many curious smiles that day and felt like my job was not complete."

There is always time to build a snowman!

Gotta have some fun in the snow...since we have so much of it!

Wow!

Wow is the word I would use to describe the powerful drum beat of theHoly Spirit this evening in Thomas Hall!  Praise God!  He is Good!  All the time!
One of the boys was getting out soon.  He asked for prayers about finding a church.  There were several guys who prayed tonight, so I'm sorry that I don't remember his name.  He is the young man that did request for prayer to find a church.  I am hoping that he will receive information about True North, and that we can help him find a loving church.

Thanks.

Praying for the kids to see His amazing light, and that they would enter into it and bask in HIS AMAZING GLORY!
